BB Cream - Beauty Benefit or Beauty Buzzword?

BB Creams are the new beauty buzzword. Well not exactly new. Last year we filled you in on Garnier’s BB Cream and how these multi-taskers were set to become the future of skincare.
So hot on their heels we have Estée Lauder’s go at the BB cream, which stands for Beauty Benefit. Having its origins in the Asian skincare market, BB creams aim to give a multi-faceted all in one approach to skincare. Beautycouture.ie though has always been wary of products which claim to be all things to all skin types as it’s a very tall order to fulfil.
But, that said, Estée’s New Daywear Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Crème SPF 35 €40.50 is packing a whole lotta benefits under its hood. It’s an oil-free, light cream, that aims to protect, perfect and moisturise skin all at once. Down to brass tacks, that means it’s going to provide UV protection plus anti-oxidant power, sheer pigments will ‘perfect’ or aluminate and hydrators will moisturise.
In reality, it’s pretty darn good. It does have a very light easily absorbed texture, is non-greasy and what’s really great about it is that it’s tinted and can be worn alone or under foundation for extra coverage. So far its been well tolerated and has kept skin feeling smooth.
It also has a yummy fresh cucumber scent.
