Great Foundation Search - Clinique Even Better Makeup

Clinique are again the subjects of our Great Foundation Search and this time its their Even Better Makeup SPF15, that we’re putting to the test.

Normally I would go for an ivory / very light shade in any foundation seeing as I am a pale princess and abhor tango-ness, so when I was advised to use shade 26! I nearly fell off my chair and onto Beautycouture.ie HQ’s floor. ‘But I’ll be tangoed’ I pleaded. However, swallowing my protests I went ahead and decided to put it to the test.

And low and behold it wasn’t a bad match! It wasn’t the hideous orange I had envisioned; instead it seemed to blend in with my skin tone quite well. The foundation itself is quite lightweight and not too gloopy at all. Its also oil free so it will be great for anyone worried about clogging pores or forehead shine.

 

The idea behind the foundation is that it’s supposed to help restore uneven skin tone and diminish the look of discolouration with continued use. So far so good for me, but I haven’t seen any improvement in either department yet. It did give a nice medium coverage and did cover up all my blemishes and icky bits.

It lasted pretty well throughout the day and didn’t transfer onto my clothes too much either.

All in all a good foundation for those with combination skin who are looking for something that’s oil free. It goes into our chart at number 3 ahead of the brands Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser.
