Unique pedicure - Something fishy is going on
By: Niamh, February 04
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water.... yes it’s here. Quite possibly one of the most unusual spa treatments we’ve ever heard of has at last landed on our shores... its Irelands First Fish Pedicure! A what? Yes... you read that right a Fish Pedicure!
Bottom line is that this new beauty treatment involves placing your piggies in a warm pool of Garra Rufa fish or Doctor Fish as they are also known. Stay with us, don’t gross out just yet. As you put your feet in the warm pool, the 125 specially selected fish begin to investigate, seeking out and removing dead skin, bacteria and calluses while rejuvenating healthy skin. As the fish have no teeth they act as a stimulating and relaxing massage running their little suction cup mouths across the feet and toes.

While it may sound a little like a scene from B-Movie horror flick Pirahana or Jaws, it’s actually meant to be a very effective treatment and has a host of celebrity fans like little boots..... The only way to know is to try it out, so for you Beuaytcouture.ie readers, I have volunteered to test it out and report back with the findings.... I think it's going to be great and I secretly can’t wait, but I really hope I don’t crush one of the little fish with my foot.
Find out how I get on next week
The Fish Pedicure is avialable at Margarita's Beauty Salon in Sutton Cross Dublin
