Siobhan Callaghan - Emerging Fashion Talent

At Beautycouture.ie HQ, we’re all about championing Irish products and Irish talent, especially of the up-and-coming kind, so when we heard about fashion designer and emerging talent Siobhan Callaghan we couldn’t wait to share it with you.
Hailing from Slane Co. Meath, Siobhan is in her final year in NCAD and specialises in embroidered fashion garments. We were very impressed when we caught a look at her designs, specially this super amazing dress. Wispy, ethereal and ultra feminine, with a good dose of retro chic vintage, we could easily see this hanging on the rails at any of the wonderful boutiques around the country.
Intrigued, we asked Siobhan to tell us all about her collection. ‘It’s called Enchanted Escape,’ she says. ‘Basically it’s a series of fashion garments inspired by the classic Cinderella tale of rags-to-riches using visual sources such as botany and natural landscape for elements of colour texture and shape.’ Looking at the collection one can really see this influence in Siobhan’s clothes and its right on trend.
‘Photography plays a huge part in my visual research and design process,’ she explains. ‘The collection hosts an exciting collage of up-cycled second hand vintage fabrics and trimmings along with extravagant beading and luxurious silks. Complimenting the light and airy fabrics, I have used a sophisticated colour palette of soft, pale creams and beiges with a dash of rich pinks-like a bold lipstick on a beautiful porcelain face. I want the garments to be dreamlike and floaty with dainty feminine elements and glittery detailed embellishments. Overall the collection is imaginative, extravagant and visionary and something I’m very proud to exhibit.’
We love this collection and see big things in store for this talented gal... we just hope she remembers us when she is super famous!
