Emilys Style File - Spring Fling
By: Emily, February 08
Happy New Year Readers let us hope it’s going to be a Fashionable 2012. It is hard to believe this is my second year writing Emily’s Style File for Beautycouture.ie!
So now onto the Fashion December 2011 and January 2012 which saw the turnover of the collections. Last season’s stock was sold off in the sales which are nearly over and Spring/Summer 2012 fashions have started to filter into the shops.
P.S Don't forget to follow me on Twitter for fab fashion tweets and the inside scoop on style
Arnott’s Spring Summer 2012
One wintery day before Christmas I was invited by the kind people at Arnott’s to their Spring Summer 2012 Press Day, so along I went all muffled up to see what was in store for 2012. I would have shared my findings with you before now but I figured It is always good to get through Christmas before you start planning your summer wardrobe. The press day was held in The Morrison Hotel and was a feast for the eyes for those who love fashion as much as myself.
Upon arrival I walked into what could only be described as Handbag Heaven as all the new offerings from the likes of Coach, Longchamp and Sam Eldelman were displayed creatively around the room-a kid in a candy shop had nothing on me. Candy being a descriptive word here as many of the soft leather bags were in sweet candy colours. A notable mention goes to the collaboration between Longchamp and uber talented designer Mary Katrantzou who I met when Brown Thomas brought her to Ireland. These bags feature Marys iconic designs combined with Longchamps quality and durability. I then bumped into Irish Designer Peter O Brien and had a good old natter about Twitter
I then moved to The Scarf Salon where every conceivable type of scarf was hanging, prints are key for Spring/Summer 2012 and this was reflected in the scarfs. The thing I love about scarfs is that by wearing one you can buy into a trend or look in a way that is more cost effective than purchasing a dress. One of The Arnott’s buyers then brought me on a tour of Ladies Fashions and showed me some of the new designers the store is proud to welcome this season such as Anna Sui and Badgley Mischka. These sat amongst other brands such as Ted Baker , Gestuz, and Tara Jarmon -one not to be missed if you are attending a race meeting or ball this year. Get into Arnott’s and check out the new stock for yourself as the buying team got it spot on for 2012.
During The Holidays I also took a trip into Brown Thomas where they had some amazing Clothes from Chanel on display
